Welcome to the Government Compensation in California (GCC) website.
State Controller John Chiang uses his independent authority to guard taxpayer dollars,
fight waste and uncover fiscal fraud and abuse.
The public employee salary data collected and published by the Controller's Office is based
on unaudited information as received from the local and state government offices.
This includes all data received and processed as of February 3, 2012.
In 2010, the Controller announced new reporting requirements for all California cities and counties,
directing them to clearly identify elected officials' and public employees' compensation.
This report is considered a supplement to the State Controller's Annual Financial Report.
Therefore, the authority to collect this information is granted under Government Code sections 12463 and 53892.
Below, you'll find different options for viewing the salary information of the Counties, Cities, Special Districts,
State, and Higher Education. Please choose the option in which you would like to view the data.
